Gorlok Volleyball Sweeps Eutectics, 3-0, For Third Straiight

Box Score The Webster University volleyball team won its third straight match, downing the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, 3-0, on September 16, at St. Louis University High School.  The Gorloks have swept all three in the streak.

Webster battled to win the first set, 26-24, with Rachel Nelson (SR, Papillion, NE/Papillion LaVista-South HS) leading with five kills and junior Katie O'Toole (St. Louis, MO/Lutheran South HS) getting 11 digs.

The Gorloks and Eutectics had another close set in the second, with Webster winning 25-21.  Emmi Murphy (FR, Springfield, MO/Central HS) had 10 assists to lead Webster and O'Toole added seven more digs.

The Gorloks completed the sweep, 25-13, having an easier time winning the third set.  Nelson finished the evening with 12 kills and a .435 attack percentage.  Jory Siebenmorgen (JR, Eureka, MO/UMSL) had 11 kills and a team-high .556 attack percent.
 
O'Toole finished the evening with 26 digs and freshman Emmi Murphy (Springfield, MO/Central HS) had a team-high 16 assists, followed by Dani Roosman (SR, Cape Girardeau, MO/Notre Dame HS) with 15.

Webster evens its season record at 4-4 with the win over the College of Pharmacy, an NAIA school that is a member of the American Midwest Conference.  The Gorloks travel to Decatur, IL, on September 19 to play host Millikin University, and St. Mary's College (IN). 

Webster is home on September 22 for a SLIAC match vs. MacMurray College (IL) at Grant Gymnasium.  That will be 'Fuzzy's Taco Shop' night, with various promotions for the Gorlok Athletics' sponsor.
