Women's Soccer Nipped at Rose-Hulman, 1-0

Box Score Despite mounting a furious second half attack, Webster women's soccer couldn't overcome a one-goal halftime deficit, as it lost to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, 1-0, on September 6 in Terre Haute, IN.

The Gorloks outshot the Fightin' Engineers, 14-4 in the second half, including 10-2 in shots of goal, but couldn't land one in the Rose-Hulman net.  In addition, the Gorloks held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks for the half as well...but Rose-Hulman made the lone goal stand up.

Rose-Hulman took the lead at 36:32 in the first half, slipping a goal past Webster starter Robin Bolme (SO, Smyrna, TN/Blackman HS).  Bolme had two saves in the half.  Alisa Coralic (FR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville HS) was in goal the second half for the Gorloks and fended off four shots, while making two saves.

Alison Ferguson (JR, Highland, IL/Highland HS) got off three shots, all on goal, and Jodi Kaiping (JR, Waterloo, IL/Waterloo HS) and Lauren Pratt (SR, St. Louis, MO/Incarnate Word Academy) each had two shots, both on goal, for Webster.

The Gorloks did not find life on the road good for them in regards to fouls, having 12 violations called against them, including two yellow cards, to four for the Fightin' Engineers.

Rose-Hulman, a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, finished 12-5-2 in 2014.  They improve to 1-2 on the season as Webster falls to 1-2.  The Gorloks home opener is on September 11 at the Soccer Park as they take on Lake Forest College (IL).  Webster will then play Augustana College (IL) on September 13 at home.
