Webster's offensive woes continued in game two, but starter Alexis Spriggs (JR, Scott City, MO/Scott City HS) threw three three scoreless innings to start the game. Three Griffin hits and two Gorloks errors contributed to a four-run Fontbonne fourth, though, as Webster fell behind, 4-0.
Webster got on the board in the fifth when a Sullens solo home run to right made it 4-1. For Sullens, who came into the evening with a .419 batting average, it was her second long ball of the season.
The Gorloks' third error of the game, with two-out in the Fontbonne fifth, led to two unearned Griffin runs as Webster fell behind, 6-1. Two walks and a single by the Griffins in the sixth loaded the bases with no outs. A one-out single plated two, and another single scored the game winner, as Fontbonne led by eight, 9-1, after five innings of play.
Sullens was 1-2 with the home run and RBI, and was 3-5 on the day. Sidney Coleman (JR, Fredericksburg, VA/Fountain-Ft. Carson HS) and Emily Kolisch (JR, St. Louis, MO/Incarnate Word Academy) had the only other hits for the Gorloks.
