The Webster University volleyball team finished the Washington University Baden Invitational with a 2-1 record, defeating Knox College on September 3. The Gorloks swept the Prairie Fire, a member of the Midwest Conference, 25-13, 25-20, and 25-20.
It was the second straight sweep to end the Invitational for Webster, who defeated Rose-Hulman 3-0 the previous evening. Webster goes to 3-1 on the season with the win.
The Gorloks overpowered the Prairie Fire, with a 46-24 advantage in kills as the team had a .267 attack percentage for the match. Leading the way in kills was senior Jory Siebenmorgen (Eureka, MO/Eureka) with 12 and a .321 attack pct. Emily Knowles (SR, Belleville, IL/Mascoutah) had 11 kills and a .409 attack pct. for the match.
Ashley Robinson (JR, Bloomington, IL/Bloomington) led Webster with 16 assists and Katie O'Toole (SR, St. Louis, MO/Lutheran South) had 12 digs.
For her efforts, Siebenmorgen was named to the 2016 Baden Invitational All-Tournament Team.
The Gorloks travel to Jacksonville, IL, on September 9 to face host Illinois College and North Park University (IL).
