The Webster University men's soccer team lost to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 3-0, on September 23 in Whitewater, WI. Whitewater took an early lead and the Warhawks held on for the win.
Whitewater took a 1-0 lead at the nine minute mark, scoring on Webster goalie, Kyle Hertel (SO, Sandpoint, ID/Sandpoint). The Warhawks added a second goal at the 34 minute mark to take a 2-0 lead at the half.
The Warhawks added a third goal at 80:00. Hertel went all the way in the nets, facing six shots on goal and making three saves.
Webster had seven shots in the contest, with three on goal, but couldn't get on the board.
The Gorloks are 4-3-1 with the loss as Wisconsin-Whitewater improves to 4-3-2.
The Gorloks travel to Bloomington, IL, on September 26 to face Illinois Wesleyan University. Webster is back home on September 30 with its SLIAC opener vs. Iowa Wesleyan University at the Soccer Park.
