ELSAH, Ill. - Webster University's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer match on Saturday at Principia College was postponed due to the ongoing threat of inclement weather in the area.
The Gorloks and Panthers were scheduled to play at 3 p.m. on Saturday, but the start of the Webster-Principia women's match that was scheduled to start at 1 p.m. was delayed nearly two hours due to lightning before that match began around 3 p.m. and the forecast calls for inclement weather the remainder of the day, so it was decided to postpone the match and reschedule it for later this month.
Saturday's postponed match has been rescheduled for Monday, Oct. 29 with the time still to be announced by Principia as they are the home team for the match.
With Saturday's postponement, the Gorloks, who are 10-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the SLIAC. will now return to action this coming Tuesday as they host Blackburn College in a 7 p.m. SLIAC match at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. Prior to the match, the Gorloks will honor its three seniors in a prematch ceremony. Webster's three seniors are midfielder/forward
Tucker Hively (St. Louis, Mo./Priory), defender
Eric Tate (St. Louis, Mo./Oakville) and goalkeeper
Charlie McGhee (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo).
