Kreitler Named Head Cheer Coach

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Webster University Director of Athletics, Scott Kilgallon, has announced the hiring of Amanda Kreitler as the Head Competitive Cheerleading Coach. Kreitler will take over the Webster University Cheerleading program immediately.

"We are excited to have Amanda serve as our next Competitive Cheer Coach and look forward working with her and Assistant Coach Alexis Hoffman to build upon the great work of Former Coach Justin Barton." Said Kilgallon. "Amanda's background as a former collegiate cheerleader, coach, and personal fitness trainer will be instrumental in the development of our program. We are excited to have Amanda join our staff!"

Kreitler comes to Webster University after previously serving as the Head Cheerleading Coach at Brentwood High School from 2018 to 2019. She is a Certified Personal Trainer and has been self-employed since 2010. She has also worked at Lift for Life Academy as a personal trainer as well as several fitness centers around the St. Louis area. In addition to being a Certified Personal Trainer, she is also a Certified Health/Wellness Coach.

Kreitler started cheerleading during her high school days at Webster Groves High School. She then went to the University of Missouri-St. Louis where she was a founding member of the universities cheer team.

"I am excited and honored to be selected as the new Head Cheerleading Coach at Webster University." Said Kreitler. "Cheerleading is an important, necessary component in schools and athletic programs. I look forward to continuing and building upon a really great program and adding to the Webster legacy.  I would like to thank Scott Kilgallon for the opportunity to coach this amazing team. Finally, I would like to encourage all Webster University students to attend games, show school spirit, and support the Webster University Cheerleaders."

In addition to being a Certified Personal Trainer and Health/Wellness Coach, Kreitler is also an NGA Pro-Figure Athlete and has been a fitness competitor since 2012. She holds several certifications including a CPR/AED certification, Sports Nutrition for Performance and Health certification, and a Pre/Post Natal Fitness certification.

The University of Missouri-St. Louis alumna graduated in 2003 with her Bachelors of Science in Education. She then went on to Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville where she obtained a Masters of Science in Education-Kinesiology.
