ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University women's soccer team will host Greenville (Ill.) University in the SLIAC Women's Soccer Tournament Semifinals at World Wide Technology Soccer Park on Thursday, November 4
th. The game is set to kick-off at 5 p.m.
The Gorloks finished the regular season with a 15-3-1 overall record and an 11-2-1 mark in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They earned the second seed in the SLIAC Tournament and a bye in the first round.
The Gorloks won both of their games against the Panthers this season. They defeated Greenville by a final score of 2-0 on October 18
th and then won by a final score of 1-0 on October 27
th. They outshot the Panthers 28-10 in those two games and were able to put nine shots on target compared to just six from Greenville.
Jordan Lande and
Mackenzie Sundhausen have been the main offensive threats for the Gorloks this season. Lande leads the team with 18 goals on the year and has added five assists for a team high 41 points. She sits at 49 career goals which is tied for fifth all-time in Webster history. Sundhausen has scored nine goals on the year and added five assists for 23 total points in the 2021 campaign.
Jennifer Munger leads the team in assists as she has 10 on the season.
Taryn Banfield has been the key for the Gorloks defensively as she has accumulated a record of 13-3-1 in goal this season. She has allowed just 10 goals all season and has posted a .846 save percentage. She has recorded nine solo shutouts on the year and was named the SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week four times this season.
The price of admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for individuals 16 and under.
The winner of this game will move on to the SLIAC Women's Soccer Tournament Finals on Saturday, November 6
th and will face the winner of the other semifinal game between Fontbonne (Mo.) University and Spalding (Ky.) University.
