FULTON, Mo. – The Webster University men's soccer team was back in action this afternoon when they traveled to Fulton, Missouri, to take on Westminster (Mo.) College Blue Jays for a SLIAC matchup. The Gorloks defeated the Blue Jays by a final score of 3-0 to improve to 10-1-3 on the year and 8-0-2 in the SLIAC. With the loss, Westminster falls to 3-9-2 on the season and 3-5-2 in conference play.
Webster outshot the Blue Jays 18-7 in the contest and put eight shots on target compared to five from Westminster. The Gorloks also led in the corner count as they finished with four while the Blue Jays did not record any.
The Gorloks got on the board quickly in this one as she were able to score in the fifth minute of the game.
Aamahn Murvin scored the goal for Webster as he was able to finish off his 13
th of the season.
Mark Moore and
Isaac Pearson both had assists on the play as Moore recorded his fifth of the season and Pearson his second.
Mark Moore added to the Gorloks lead in the 14
th minute of the game as he was able to find the back of the net for the fourth time this season after knocking in a rebound on a shot from
Isaac Pearson.
Brendan Pagan finished off the scoring for the Gorloks as he was able to find the back of the net for the third time this year in the 44
th minute.
Amar Mujezinovic had the assist for Webster, his third of the season.
Ty Baudendistel was in goal for the Gorloks as he recorded five saves in his fifth solo shutout of the season.
The Gorloks will return to the field on Wednesday, October 19
th when they host the Eureka (Ill.) College Red Devils at WWT Soccer Park. Prior to the start of the game, we will honor the six seniors on the team for their hard work and dedication to the program. The game is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
