ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches has announced the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer All-Region Teams. For their efforts this past season,
Aamahn Murvin was named First Team All-Region VIII,
Tavis Cameron was named Second Team All-Region VIII, and
Isaac Pearson was named Third Team All-Region VIII.
Murvin, a fifth-year senior out of Sahuarita, Arizona, was dominant for the Gorloks all season long. The three-time SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year led the Gorloks with 14 goals and seven assists for a team high 35 points. His 14 goals and 35 points were the most in the SLIAC this season while his seven assists was tied for the conference lead. He recorded three or more points in seven games this season including a stretch of five straight games. He finished the regular season ranked 20
th in the nation in total goals (14), 18
th in total points (34), and 20
th in points per game (2.00). He was the first Gorlok in program history to win three straight SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year awards and was named the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week three times this season.
Cameron, a senior out of St. Louis, Missouri, was a key component in the Gorloks 14-3-3 record on the season. He anchored a back line that allowed just 13 goals on the year while posting 12 total shutouts. He appeared and started in 19 games for the Gorloks this season and became just the sixth player in Gorlok history to be named SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year. He recorded four shots on the season and was named First Team All-SLIAC for the first time in his career.
Pearson, a fifth-year senior out of St. Louis, Missouri, appeared and started in 18 games for the Gorloks this season. He finished the year with two goals and two assists for six total points on the season. His two goals were both game winners as he scored the game winner against Monmouth (Ill.) College and the game winner against Eureka (Ill.) College. He was named First Team All-SLIAC for the first time in his career and finished second on the team with 23 total shots.
