Schultz, Williams Earn Weekly SLIAC Honors

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the SLIAC Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Sunday, February 6th. For their efforts over the weekend at the Jim Green Invitational, Danielle Schultz was named the Women's Track Athlete of the Week while Armond Williams was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

Schultz, a junior out of Swansea, Illinois, had a great showing at the Jim Green Invitational over the weekend. She helped the team score 20 of their 37 points in the meet as she took first place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.95. She then competed on the 4x400 meter relay team along with Micah Barnes, Michelle Grant, and Jordan Lande who took first place with a time of 4:36.94. This is her fifth career SLIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week Award.

Williams, a sophomore out of Mascoutah, Illinois, also had a great showing for the Gorloks as he took first place in the high jump. He set a personal record after clearing the bar at 1.93 meters to beat out nine competitors in the field and earn 10 points for Webster. This is Williams first career SLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week Award.

The Gorloks are back in action on Friday, February 11th when they travel to Pittsburg, Kansas, to compete in the Indoor Gorilla Classic hosted by Pittsburg State University. The meet will take place on Friday, February 11th and Saturday, February 12th.
