ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Sunday, March 13^th. For his efforts on the mound, Alek Elges was named the SLIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

Elges, a sophomore pitcher out of Littleton, Colorado, was dynamite for the Gorloks over the weekend in a 5-0 win against the fourth ranked North Central (Ill.) College Cardinals. He allowed just five hits while striking out four in 8.1 scoreless innings. He is currently 2-1 on the season with a 1.45 earned run average and has struck out 13 batters on the season. This is his first career SLIAC Pitcher of the Week award.

The baseball team is back in action on Tuesday, March 15^th when they take on the sixth ranked Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors in Port Charlotte, Florida. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. EST at Centennial Park Field 10.
