ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University women's tennis team was back in action this morning when they played host to the Simpson (Iowa) College Storm for a nonconference matchup. Webster defeated the Storm by a final score of 6-3 to improve to 12-10 on the season. With the loss, Simpson falls to 4-10 on the year.

This match served as Senior Day for the women's tennis team. Following the conclusion of the match, the tennis team honored Emma Ferguson and Navone Armstrong for their hard work and dedication to the Webster Women's Tennis Program.

The Gorloks started off the day by taking two out of the three doubles matches. Emma Ferguson and Kylie Chitwood won #2 doubles as they defeated Donnie Kinghorn and Bella Tranquilino by a final score of 8-3. Maddie Mena and Emily Casey also won their match as they defeated Kennedi Wright and Anna Schewe in #3 doubles by a final score of 8-3.

After dropping the first two matches in singles, Webster bounced back to win the final four. Bailey Higgins won #3 singles by final scores of 7-6 (10-8) and 6-0, Kylie Chitwood won #4 singles by final scores of 6-2 and 6-1, Maddie Mena won #5 singles by final scores of 6-1 and 6-1, and Emily Casey won #6 singles by final scores of 6-0 and 7-6 (7-5).

Webster is back in action on Wednesday, April 27^th when they travel to Fulton, Missouri, to take on the Westminster (Mo.) College Bluejays. The match is set to start at 3 p.m.
