Two Gorloks Earn Weekly Awards

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – This afternoon the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the Player of the Week awards for the first week of the season. The Gorloks had two individuals win the award including Kyanne Ruth Williams who won the Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week award and Luke Dillon who won the Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award.

Williams, a senior out of St. Louis, Missouri, took third place out of 29 competitors in the Principia College Cross Country Opener. She finished the 4K race with a time of 17:06 and had an average mile time of 6:52. She finished with the fastest time out of all 13 competitors from the SLIAC and was one of only two competitors from the SLIAC to finish under 19 minutes. The other being her teammate, Megan Bartz. This is her second career SLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week Award.

Dillon, a freshman goalkeeper out of St. Peters, Missouri, had a fantastic performance in his collegiate debut on Sunday. He made six saves in a 0-0 draw against Dominican (Ill.) University, including three saves in each half, for his first career shutout. This is his first career SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Award.
