Gorloks Volleyball Season Ends In SLIAC Semifinals To Greenville

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Webster University volleyball team continued tournament play in the 2025 SLIAC Volleyball Tournament with the semifinals match against Greenville University. The Gorloks battled the Panthers closely but dropped the match in straight sets. Webster ends their season with a 11-18 overall record. 

Greenville opened the match with the early 5-2 lead that included an assisted block by Tyler Ramstack and Eva Tarlos while Tarlos added a kill. The Gorloks cut the deficit to one at 4-5 with a kill by Ramstack. With the one-point deficit, the Panthers stretched their lead to 7-10 with a 5-2 run which included kills by Catherine Rennier and Lauren Harms. Following a kill by Delaney Morio that made the score 7-10, Greenville responded with a 10-2 run that made the score 8-18. Following the Panthers run, the Gorloks added a 4-1 run that cut the deficit to 12-19 that included a solo block by Tarlos and a kill by Delaney Fullenkamp. However, Greenville closed out the set with a 6-0 run that took the early set advantage. 

Webster and Greenville opened the second set with back-and-forth play to a tie at three apiece that included an assisted block by Tarlos and Ramstack. Following consecutive kills by the Panthers, the Gorloks responded with a 6-1 run that took the 9-6 advantage. In the run, Fullenkamp recorded three kills while Tarlos added one as Maddie Bock capped off the run with a service ace. 

Immediately following the Webster run, Greenville countered with a 8-0 run that generated the 9-14 deficit. Moments later, the Gorloks chipped back and recorded a 7-3 run that cut the deficit to one at 16-17. In the run, Harms, Ramstack, and Zablonski added one kill each while Tarlos and Zablonski recorded an assisted block as Riley Watson added a service ace. With the one-point deficit at 17-18, the Panthers added a 4-1 run that made the score 18-22. Moments later, Webster battled back with a 3-0 run with kills by Rennier and Tarlos that made the score 21-22. However, Greenville closed out the set with a 3-1 run that took the two-set advantage. 

Webster and Greenville opened the final set with back-and-forth action to a tie at five apiece. In that span of points, Zablonski recorded two kills while Rennier added one kill. With a one-point deficit at 5-6, the Gorloks added a 3-1 run as a kill by Fullenkamp put Webster on top at 8-7. Moments later, the Panthers responded with a 9-1 run that generated the 9-16 deficit. Shortly later, the Gorloks chipped back with a 4-0 run that made the score 13-16 that included kills by Zablonski and Ramstack while Rennier and Zablonski paired up for an assisted block. Following the Webster run, Greenville added a 3-0 run that made the score 13-19.

With the six-point deficit, the Gorloks cut the deficit to 19-21 with a 6-2 run. In the run, Ramstack and Zablonski recorded a kill each while Lauren Peterson capped off the run with a service ace. However, the Panthers closed out the set with a 4-1 run that ended the Gorloks season. 


For the match, Ramstack and Zablonski recorded team-highs of five kills each while Tarlos and Rennier added four kills each. Watson and Morio achieved double-digit assists marks led by Watson with 12 while Morio dished out 10. Defensively, Zablonski led with nine digs while Jaycee Lewis, Morio and Watson collected six digs each. At the net, Tarlos led the team with four blocks while Ramstack, Rennier, and Zablonski recorded two blocks each.
