Volleyball Earns 18th Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University volleyball program has earned the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced Thursday.

The honor recognizes volleyball programs that maintained a year-long team grade-point average of at least 3.30 during the 2025-26 academic year. Webster was one of 1,432 programs nationwide to receive the award.

The recognition marks the 18th consecutive and 20th overall year the Gorloks have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award. Webster posted a 3.78 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year and was also named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, recognizing programs that ranked in the top 20 percent of their respective divisions academically.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
