ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released its 2026 preseason poll for men's soccer, with Webster University selected to finish third in the conference.
The Gorloks received 52 points and three first-place votes, finishing just five points behind second-place Lyon College (57, two first-place votes), and eight points behind preseason favorite Greenville University (60, four first-place votes).
Webster returns a strong veteran core from last season's squad, including five All-SLIAC selections. Leading the group is junior forward Scott Price, who earned First Team All-SLIAC honors after being named the 2025 SLIAC Offensive Player of the Year. Price also earned Region VIII Fourth Team honors.
Also returning are First Team All-SLIAC selections Alberto Duque Gonzalez and Juan Ignacio Martins Ferreira, along with Second Team selection Niklas Storck and Third Team selection Vladimir Sennikov. Junior defender/midfielder Finn Rohl also returns to anchor a Webster defense that will look to build on last season's 8-7-1 campaign.
The Gorloks went 6-2 in SLIAC play last season, finishing second in the regular-season standings before falling in the first round of the SLIAC Tournament.
Head coach Nenad Curic welcomes 10 newcomers to the program in 2026, including freshmen Corrado Benigni, Federico Grifasi, Ajdin Junuzovic, Mauro Bustamante, Jorgen Koren, Bashor Soufi and Logan Russell. The Gorloks also add graduate transfers Tom Walton and Luis Guapacha, as well as junior goalkeeper Sanel Catic.
With 22 returners joining a group of 10 newcomers, Webster enters the 2026 season with a blend of experienced veterans and new additions as the Gorloks look to make a run at the SLIAC title.
Webster opens the 2026 season on Thursday, Sept. 3, at Missouri Baptist University.
