John Lord enters his second season with the Webster University baseball team as an assistant coach in 2019.
 
In his first season at Webster, Lord helped the Gorloks achieve a school record 38 wins, while securing a 12th consecutive SLIAC championship and reaching the NCAA Regional Tournament. He is responsible for working with the pitching staff and taking on some of the teams recruiting responsibilities. 
 
In 2018, the Gorloks finished with a .340 team earned run average and struck out 325 batters while walking only 121. Opposing teams averaged just .253 against the Gorlok pitching staff. Lefthander Shane Donovan was named to the D3Baseball.com All-American team after posting a 6-1 record with a school record eight saves and an earned run average of 1.72. The Gorlok pitching staff also included All-Region Selection Matt Mulhearn and All-Conference selection CJ Lee. 

Lord graduated from Webster University in 2017 with a degree in Business Management, emphasis in Marketing.
 
In his time as a Gorlok, Lord was a consistent pitcher for four years. He finished his career with an 11-4 record and was selected to the SLIAC All-Conference Team in his senior campaign. During his career, the Gorloks won a Conference and Regional Championship earning a World Series birth in the 2015 season.
 
Lord is from Naperville, Ill., and graduated from Nequa Valley High School. He currently resides in St. Louis.
