Coach Zach Bishop enters his second season with the Webster University baseball team as an assistant coach in 2019.
 
In his first season at Webster, Bishop helped the Gorloks achieve a school record 38 wins, while securing a 12th consecutive SLIAC championship and reaching the NCAA Regional Tournament. He is responsible for working with the hitters and catchers, while taking on many of the teams recruiting responsibilities. 
 
In 2018, the Gorloks finished with a .321 team average and scored 367 runs. The Gorloks finished with 28 home runs and had a team OBP of .400 while swiping 123 bags on the year. First Baseman Kyler Kent was named a 3rd-Team All-American after batting .428 with 6 home runs, 17 doubles and 46 RBIs. Catcher Joe Swanson, third baseman Ben Swords, and outfielders Adam Lovell, Mike Wick, and Ben Dinter also received SLIAC All-Conference Recognition. 
 
Bishop spent his first two collegiate seasons at John Wood Community College where he served his team primarily as a catcher but also playing some first base. In his two seasons with the Blazers he served as a team captain while earning 1stteam all MWAC his sophomore season.  He graduated from John Wood with an associate’s degree in 2015.

After transferring to the Gorloks his junior year, Bishop found a comfortable home in the middle of the lineup for his final two seasons and was elected Team Captain in his Senior campaign. Bishop graduated from Webster University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology. 
 
Bishop is from Marshall, Mo., and graduated from Marshall High School where he played baseball, basketball, and football. He currently resides in St. Louis.
