Nick Niehaus begins his fourth year at the helm of Webster University’s Track and Field Teams in 2021. Niehaus served as Assistant Coach from 2014-2017, working primarily with the sprinters, jumpers, and 400m hurdlers.

Since becoming the program's head track and field coach, Niehaus has led the Webster women's team to two consecutive SLIAC Outdoor Championships in 2018 and 2019 and the inaugural SLIAC Women's Indoor Championship in 2020 and has seen the men's team finish as runner-up in outdoor track in 2018 and 2019. Additionally, three Gorloks have qualified for NCAA National Championships as Caleb Clemons qualified in the 60 meters for the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Nationals, while Jacob Ridenhour qualified in 60 meters for the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Nationals and also qualified in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes at the 2019 NCAA Divison III Outdoor National Championships and Ridenhour (60 meter and 200 meter) and Daisha Reece (long jump) qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in 2020. Ridenhour finished the 2019 season as the national runner-up in the 200 meter dash and became the school's first-ever All-American in track and field.

Throughout his tenure at Webster, Niehaus’s athletes established almost every school record for his event groups in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field. At the 2017 Inaugural Outdoor SLIAC Championships, his event groups earned a total of 16 All-Conference recognitions, including Conference champions in the Women’s Long Jump, Women’s 4x400m Relay, and Women’s 400m Hurdles.

Niehaus says, “I am elated to step into the Head Coach role. I’m grateful to inherit such a strong foundation from Coach Dan Graber’s four years of hard work and dedication, and I look forward to continue working with him while helping the students grow as athletes, teammates, and scholars during their time at Webster.”

Niehaus competed at Centre College, a NCAA Division III institution located in Danville, Kentucky. He set the current school record in the 400m Hurdles at 53.44 seconds and holds the 400m Hurdles record at the Southern Athletic Association Championship meet. Niehaus received ten total All-Conference recognitions during his tenure in the 110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, 4x400m Relay, High Jump, and Discus. He graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Behavioral Neuroscience.
