    Volunteer Assistant Men’s Golf Coach
Josh “Bubba” Hayes enters his role as an assistant coach for the Webster University Men’s golf program after a distinguished career as a student-athlete and a student-coach with the Gorloks. Coach Hayes was a member of the 2023 SLIAC Championship team that advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championship, earned 2023 SLIAC Second Team All-Conference honors and was named to the Academic All-District team that same season. He also served as team captain during his career and was recognized on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team in 2025. 
 
Coach Hayes played in 69 collegiate rounds, ending his collegiate career with a scoring average of 80.30. In those 69 rounds, he recorded nine rounds of 75 or lower. During that time, he was a consistent top-5 contributor for the program. During the 2025 season, he also gained valuable coaching experience by serving as a student coach when not competing in tournaments. 
 
A standout in the classroom, Hayes also worked in Webster’s premier research hub, the Global Policy Horizons Research Lab, where he published numerous reports on international conflict and foreign policy. He graduated summa cum laude in 2025 with a 3.93 GPA, earning a double B.A. in Political Science and Sports Communication and a minor in Spanish. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree at the University of Missouri.
