SLIAC Hitter of the Week (3/6/17)

2020 (SENIOR): Played in and started all 14 games, mostly in center field ... Also started in both left field and catcher ... One of only three players to play in and start all 14 games ... Hit .308 on the season ... One of six Gorloks to hit over .300 on the year ... Finished the year with 39 at-bats, nine runs, 12 hits, two doubles, one triple, one home run and had 7 RBI ... Recorded the team's only triple against Saint Mary's (Minn.) (3/7) ... Had three multi-hit games and a seven game hit streak during the season ... Led team with five walks and struck just four times in 39 at-bats ... Had three or more at-bats in eight games, including a career high tying five at-bats against Houghton (3/7) ... In the field, had a .931 fielding percentage as she had 27 putouts and two errors in 29 fielding chances ... Tallied a .487 slugging percentage and a .378 on-base percentage. 

2019 (JUNIOR): Played in all 34 games and made 33 starts, primarily in center field ... One of only three players on the team to play in all 34 games ... Hit .259 on the year ... Was tied for third in at-bats with 85 and recorded 22 hits and scored 24 runs ... The 24 runs were the most on the team, while the 22 hits were fourth on the team ... Tied for the team lead in doubles with six and led team with six home runs ... Also led team with 23 RBI ... Drew a team high 13 walks and struck just 11 times in 85 at-bats ... Went 2-for-2 on stolen bases ... Posted a team-best .541 slugging percentage and was third on the team in on-base percentage at .364 ... Tallied seven multi-hit games, including a team best three 3-hit games and also led the team with eight multiple RBI games, including a career high tying 4 RBI game against Knox (3/24) ... In the field, recorded a .964 fielding percentage as she had 47 put outs, seven assists and two errors on 56 fielding chances ... In SLIAC play, played in all 18 games and made 17 starts ... Hit .300 with 15 hits, 13 runs scored, three doubles, four home runs and 15 RBI en route to earning Second-Team All-SLIAC honors ... Walked five times and was 2-for-2 on stolen bases. 

2018 (SOPHOMORE): Played in and started all 35 games, primarily in center field … Also made three starts at catcher at the beginning of the season while Terri Dearth was finishing up the basketball season … Hit .309 on the year … Was third on the team in at-bats (110) and recorded 34 hits and scored 23 runs … The 34 hits were fifth on the team, while the 23 runs scored were tied for third on the team … Had six doubles, one triple and hit three home runs … Recorded 22 RBI and drew 17 walks, which was third on the team … Posted a .464 slugging percentage and had a .397 on-base percentage … Had seven multi-hit games and four multiple RBI games … Ended the season on a nine game hit streak and had a reached base streak of 13 games during the season … The nine hit streak was the second longest on the team … Against Spalding on Apr. 29, she went 4-for-8 at the plate with two runs scored, four RBI, had two doubles and a homer, including going 3-for-4 at the plate in second game of a doubleheader against the Spalding … Posted six two hit games … Struck just 15 times in 110 at-bats … In the field, recorded a .938 fielding percentage as she had 53 putouts, seven assists, and four errors on 64 fielding chances … In SLIAC play, played in and started all 18 games … Hit .327 with 18 hits, 13 runs scored, three doubles, one triple, had two home runs and 16 RBI … Walked 10 times and struck out seven times in 55 at-bats.

2017 (FRESHMAN): Played in and started all 43 games as a freshman …Started at first base, shortstop, catcher and outfield during the season … Led team with a .399 batting average and also led the team in hits (57), runs (41), at-bats (143), doubles (12), home runs (7) and RBI (37) … Her 57 hits is tied for second-most in a season in school history, while her 143 at-bats are seventh-most in a single season history … Recorded a .643 slugging percentage and a .466 on-base percentage … Drew 18 walks and struck out 16 times in 143 at-bats … Had 16 multi-hit games, including three 4-hit games … The four hit games are tied for eighth best in a game in school history … Recorded nine multiple RBI games, including two 4 RBI games … In SLIAC play, played in and started all 18 games … Hit .413 with 26 hits ,19 runs, five doubles, one triple, four home runs and 17 RBI … Had a .714 slugging percentage and a .448 on-base percentage in league play.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered for three years (2012-14) in softball at Triad High School in Troy, Ill., for Coach Kris Kleeman … Also lettered in volleyball and basketball … Was a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection in softball … Earned Second-Team All-Conference honors in volleyball as a junior … As a senior, was a First-Team All-Conference selection in both softball and volleyball and Second-Team All-Conference honoree in basketball … Voted the Most Athletic in Class of 2016 ... In the classroom, was a Scholar Athlete nominee and also a member of the National Honors Society as a junior and senior … Played club softball from 2010-16 for the Illinois Esprit and Coach Bob Lonsdale … Was second at State in 2012 and also won multiple titles with Illinois Esprit.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 20 … Daughter of Catherine and Ira Burroughs … Earned a Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences and is currently pursuing a master's degree Biomedical Studies … Has two brothers, Tyler (29) and Evan (22) and a sister, Paige (27) … Chose Webster because of the people, the campus and the smaller class sizes ... Member of the Dean’s List at Webster in both 2017, 2018 and 2019 and is also a member of Webster's SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) … Works as a statistician at home basketball games for Webster's Sports Information Office … Lists the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues as her favorite teams ... Names Yadier Molina, Ozzie Smith, Tommy Edman, Jessie Warren, Sydney and Sierra Romero as her favorite athletes ... Likes to read, travel, work out and hang out with friends ... Wants to get a job in a research or hospital lab.
