Ashley Hamby enters her first season as an assistant coach at Webster University, fresh off her second successful season with the Federated Italian Softball League where, as a pitcher, led the San Marino Titano Hornets to two consecutive playoff appearances and to the finals of the European Cup Championship. Prior to international play, Ashley played professionally in the National Pro Fastpitch League with the expansion Michigan Ice.

At Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Hamby was named a Division-I Academic All-American pitcher (ESPN the Magazine) and is ranked in numerous top ten career-pitching categories including the school record for career winning percentage (.795). She earned Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week and Scholar-Athlete honors, threw two no-hitters, and helped lead the Salukis to the schools highest ever NCAA Division I ranking at #18, as a senior. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in History from SIU, graduating Summa cum Laude.

Prior to SIU, Hamby was a Missouri All-State selection as a pitcher at Fox High School, along with earning four consecutive all-conference softball and three all-conference basketball selections.
