Lauren Delaney enters her first season as an assistant coach at Webster University and will work with the Gorlok pitchers. Delaney comes to Webster after an outstanding career at Northwestern University. Lauren was a 2009 and 2010 USA Softball Player of the Year watch list member and a Lowe's Senior CLASS Award candidate. During her time at Northwestern, she was named Big Ten Tournament MVP, won six Big Ten player of the week awards, was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Year in 2008 and was the Louisville Slugger/NFCA and USA Softball National Player of the Week winner for the week of May 13, 2008. Lauren concluded her collegiate career with a 96-38 record, finishing third in school history in total wins and strikeouts (1,130) while becoming Northwestern's all-time leader in starts (136) and complete games (106). Delaney graduated from Northwestern University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Prior to her time at Northwestern, Delaney led the Jefferson City Helias High School softball team to two state championships (2003 and 2005). Lauren’s career high school record was 84-3 and she still holds the Missouri state records for career wins (84), career strikeouts (1,096) and career ERA (0.11).
