SLIAC Pitcher of the Week (3/12/18)

2018 (SOPHOMORE): Made 17 appearances and 11 starts in the circle for the Gorloks … The 17 appearances were second on the team … Went 3-5 with a 3.47 ERA on the year … Tossed three complete games and had one shutout, which came at Iowa Wesleyan (4/30) … Tossed 70.2 innings and allowed 89 hits, 58 runs (35 earned runs), while striking out 34 and walking 30 … The 70.2 innings of work was also second on the team … Earned SLIAC Pitcher of the Week honors on March 12 thanks to her play for the Gorloks during its spring break trip to Florida … In Florida, she tossed 16.2 innings over four appearances and posted a 1-0 record and a 2.52 ERA … Pitched four or more innings in a game 11 times … Struck out a career high eight batters at Eureka (4/24) and struck out four or more batters in a game four times … In SLIAC action, she made eight appearances and seven starts … She went 2-3 with a 3.46 ERA as she tossed two complete games and one shutout and in 32.1 innings, she struck out 25 and walked 21. 
 
PRIOR TO WEBSTER (Greenville University): Played her freshman season in 2017 at Greenville University for Coach Buddy Foster … On the season, made seven appearances and four starts … Recorded a 4-1 record with a 2.13 ERA … Tossed one complete game … In 23 innings, allowed 24 hits, 12 runs (seven earned), while striking out eight and walking 10. 
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Was homeschooled, but played softball for East Alton Wood River High School … Graduated in 2016 … Played club softball for five years for Bluff City and Coach Randy Anderson … Was a member of the team’s 2016 state championship team in 2016 and also helped the team to a seventh place finish at the World Series in both 2015 and 2016.
 
PERSONAL: Born Oct. 19 … Daughter of Bridgett and Sam Johnson … Majoring in Political Science … Has five sisters, Haley, Jada, Issy and Meagan … Her sister, Haley, is a freshman player for the Gorloks softball team this year … Wans to attend law school after graduation.
