Men's Soccer Falls 3-2

On October 18, the Webster University men's soccer team celebrated senior night, but came up short against Fontbonne University's Griffins.  In the first half, the Griffins got off to an early start with two quick goals by junior Kevin Vonarx and freshman Charlie Chafin.  On a rebound, junior Michael Riti scored Webster's first goal to make the score 2-1 at halftime.

In the second half, senior Kevin Fann, Webster's career goals leader, set up Riti for his second goal.  In the final minutes of the game, Fontbonne closed the game and broke the tie with Chafin's second goal.  The final score was 3-2, leaving the Gorloks 4-6-3 overall and 3-2-1 in the SLIAC.

Seven seniors were honored: Nick Keim, Brad Peach, Kevin Fann, Sam Hackett, Jinkee "Steve" Jeon, Patrick Curry, and Kyle Regan.  After the game, Riti said, "We really look to our seniors for experience, especially Sam Hackett and Kevin Fann."

The Gorloks will try to get back on track against the Principia College Panthers at 7 p.m. on October 21 in Elsah, Ill.
