(St. Louis, Mo.) – The Webster Gorloks got another solid pitching performance from Brett Mueller while Dakota Huey rapped out four hits in a
13-2 win at Fontbonne on Monday evening.
The Gorloks (
3-8, 1-0 SLIAC) fell behind 2-0 in the first without the Griffins (5-6, 3-1 SLIAC) getting a hit as Mueller walked three batters in the frame. The offense got one of those runs back in the second when Huey scored on a single off the bat of John Combs and then proceeded to score twice in the third to take the lead thanks to a throwing error by Fontbonne’s shortstop with two outs. The Gorloks added its final runs in the seventh enforcing the mercy rule.

Huey finished the night going 4-of-5 with a pair of doubles and runs scored with three RBIs. Combs, Kyle Starnes and Alex Raetzloff each had two hits as the offense pounded out 14 hits in the contest.
