The Webster University men's soccer team will take on host Loras College in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, November 14 at 5:00 p.m. in Dubuque, IA, The Gorloks and DuHawks had two common opponents this past season.
Webster (10-6-1) and Loras (18-2-2) both faced Washington University and the University of Dubuque. Webster lost 1-0 to Washington and tied Dubuque, 1-1. Loras claimed one-goal victories over both. The Gorloks win in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship propelled them into the NCAA Tournament while Loras made the field despite losing its conference final.
The men's soccer team is ranked ninth in the NCAA Central region, the first time its cracked the rankings since 2005. Loras is ranked first in the NCAA III North region and eighth nationally.
A Webster victory would send the team to a second round game on November 16 against the winner of the Grinnell College (IA)/Macalester (MN). The Loras game will be streamed live, to watch click
