The Webster University men's soccer team lost to Fontbonne College, 2-1, on October 27 at AB Soccer Park. The Gorloks could only muster a lone second half goal by Bryan Enger (SR, Mehlville HS, STL), but it wasn't enough as a Griffin second half penalty kick was the difference.
Enger's goal came at the 71:54 mark in the second half, just over a minute after the Griffins had pulled ahead 2-0 on the penalty kick. That shot came off one of 15 fouls Webster committed in the contest.
The loss means the Gorloks will travel for the first round of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference post-season tournament, as they finished in fourth place in the SLIAC. First round action will take place on November 5 at either Greenville College (IL) or Principia College (IL). Webster is 4-2-1 in the SLIAC and 9-5-3 overall. The men travel to Eureka College (IL) on October 30 for the regular season finale.
