The Webster University men’s baseball team ended a memorable season, losing 13-8 to Buena Vista University (IA) in the NCAA III Central Regional semi-finals. Playing its second game of the day, Webster fell behind early, then mounted a comeback that fell short. Still, it was a year for the record books as numerous team and individual marks were set.
Buena Vista opened up an 11-1 lead in the fourth before the Gorlok offense chipped the lead to 11-8 in the seventh inning.
Victor Valdez (SR, Benet Academy, IL) went four for five with two RBIs, hitting the 70 RBI mark on the season. Valdez went 10-17 with six runs, two doubles, two home runs, and nine RBIs for the regional.
