Softball Picks Up Split, Opens Season 3-1

The Webster University women's softball team completed its trip to Mississippi with a doubleheader split, defeating Millsaps College (MS) in the opener, 4-3, and dropping the second to Mississippi College, 9-4. 

Trisha Thompson (Xavier Prep HS, AZ), a freshman tossed a complete game against Millsaps and picked up the win.  A trio of newcomers to the team led the offense.  Hanna Brindisi (JR, John A. Logan CC, IL) hit her second home run in two day, going two for four, and Tabatha Bahre (JR, Lutheran South HS) was three for four.  Brandi Strowman (JR, Cortez HS, AZ) was 1-3 with the game-winning rbi.

In the loss to Mississippi College, Jessica Arcangel (SO, St. Lucy's Priory HS, CA) was three for four with an rbi, Strowman was two for four with an rbi, and another newcomer, Chelsea Schaffer (JR, Lindbergh HS) was three for four.
 
The Gorloks are 3-1 on the young season. They hit the road for an eight-game road trip to Orlando, FL, for the Rebel Games next week.
