The Webster University women's softball team started off its spring break splitting a double-header with Aurora University (IL), 4-6, 2-1, on March 5 in Kissimmee, FL. The Gorloks are taking part in the Rebel Games, where they will play eight games before heading home.
After losing the opener, 6-4, Webster came back to earn the split in game two, 2-1, on a complete game pitching performance by Trisha Thompson (FR, Xavier Prep HS, AZ). Thompson ran her record to 3-0. Chelsea Schaffer (JR, Lindbergh HS) continued her torrid early season hitting with her first home run of the year.
Webster is 4-2 for the season. The Gorloks play Methodist University (NC) and Lake Forest College (IL) in solo contests on March 6. After a day off, Webster resumes play on March 8 with solo games vs. Wittenburg University (OH) and Ursinus College (PA).
