It was just one of those days as the Webster University baseball team took an 11-6 licking at Eureka College (IL), on April 23. The Gorloks blew two leads, left 12 runners on base, committed three errors, and gave up 17 hits to the Red Devils. How bad was it? Webster even got 'out-stole,' 4-3, by Eureka, a rarity for the Gorloks.
Mike Rainbolt (JR, Kankakee CC, IL) was the hitting star for Webster, going three for five, with two runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base. Ryan Martinez (JR, Illinois Valley CC) started and took the loss for Webster.
Webster is 14-2 in the SLIAC, and 22-10 overall. The Gorloks are right back at it on April 24 with a doubleheader at Eureka to conclude the make-up three game series. Webster is back home at GCS Ballpark on April 28 for a single game vs. Fontbonne University.
