Softball Beats Principia, 10-2, Game 2 PPD

Improving to 11-4 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the Webster University softball team downed Principia College, 10-2, at Elsah, IL, on April 28.  Heavy rains hit in the second inning of game two, forcing the cancellation.  Trisha Thompson (SO, Xavier Prep HS, AZ) won her 10th game of the season in a complete, 5 inning effort.

Thompson allowed three hits and had three strikeouts in the win, and is 10-9 on the season.  The 10 wins are a new career high for her, eclipsing the nine wins in her freshman campaign.

Kristie Konersman (SO, Northwest HS) was the hitting star in the game, going three for four with an RBI.  Kristin Rolla (SO, O'Fallon HS, IL) was one for three with three RBIs and Tabatha Bahre (SR, Lutheran South HS) was two for three.

The Gorloks have no more regular season games, pending the rescheduling of the second Principa contest.  They are 17-20 overall.  Having locked up one of the top four spots in the SLIAC standings, the team awaits word on who and when they begin SLIAC Tournament play against, on May 3, at ABC Park in St. Ann, MO.
