David Mueller (SR, Westminster Christian Academy) pitched his second straight two-hit shutout, as the Webster University baseball team blanked Blackurn College, 10-0, on April 6, at GCS Ballpark. The shutout was Mueller's third of the season, and extended his shutout inning streak to 17 innings, and lowered his season ERA to a microscopic 0.96.
Mueller picked up a season high 12 strikeouts in the game, walked none. and is 4-1 on the season. He got all the offensive support he would need in a three-run third that was highlighted by back to back home runs by Tom Henke (SR, Forest Park CC) and Alex Kazmierski (JR, Triton CC, IL).
The Gorloks banged out 14 hits and with a five-run seventh, cut the game short as the reached the 10 run limit. Henke, Isaac Behme (FR, Harrisburg HS, IL), Matt Moore (SR, St. Joseph's College, IN), and Kevin Kojs (SO, Lincoln Way Central HS, IL) all had two hits in the game.
Webster is 7-0 in the SLIAC and 14-8 overall. The team will travel to Carlinville, IL, on April 7 for a return doubleheader with the Beavers. They are back at GCS on April 10 for a doubleheader with MacMurray College (IL).
