The post-season quest to get back to the NCAA III World Series, and compete for a national championship, begins for the Webster University baseball team with the 2013 SLIAC Baseball Tournament, in Highland, IL. The 12th-ranked Gorloks take on Fontbonne University in the first round, with the winner of the Tournament receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.
Webster has won the last three tournaments, and six of the last seven completed. The Gorloks enter the four-team field as the number one seed, courtesy of their seventh straight St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in 2013. Webster finished first with a 20-1 league record.
The Gorloks face #4 seed Fontbonne at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at Glik Park. The #2 seed Westminster faces #3 seed Spalding at 5:00 p.m. Teams with first-round losses play an elimination game at 8:00 p.m. on the 9th, with the tournament continuing through Saturday.

#1 Seed, Webster (29-8) is 23-11 in 16 tournament appearances and defeated Fontbonne, 14-3, for the tournament championship in 2012. Webster is currently ranked 12th in the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball national poll and 13th in the D3baseball.com national poll.
#2 Seed, Westminster (22-9) was 0-3 vs. the Gorloks in 2013.
#3 Seed, Spalding (30-10) handed the Gorloks their only loss in the SLIAC, 2-1, in Louisville before Webster came back to win the final two games in the series. This is Spalding's first year eligibile for SLIAC post-season play.
#4 Seed, Fontbonne (18-22) was 0-3 vs. the Gorloks in 2013.
