The Webster University women's soccer team lost a non-conference tilt, falling to Loras College (IA), 1-0, on October 17 at the Soccer Park. The DuHawks scored a goal off a header in the first half and made it hold up for the win.
The DuHawks scored the game's only tally at 15:41 in the first half. A head ball off a DuHawk forward just outside the Webster goal box was corralled by a Loras forward, who shot it by Webster keeper Alisa Coralic (SO, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville).
That would turn out to be the only goal in the game as Coralic fell to 1-2 on the season, while lowering her goals against to 2.00. Coralic made six saves in the contest as Loras got off 21 shots to Webster's five.
Webster is 7-7 overall with the loss, but remain at 5-0 in the SLIAC, one half game behind Fontbonne University, who is 6-0. The DuHawks, ranked ninth in the North Region by the NSCAA, improve to 9-3-1.
The Gorloks host Blackburn College (IL) on October 19 at the Soccer Park, then have a showdown with Fontbonne on October 22 at the Soccer Park as well.
