The Webster University women's soccer team completed its weekend trip to Memphis, TN, with a 2-0 loss to Rhodes College on September 18. The Lynx scored a goal shortly before the half to take a 1-0 lead and added a second half insurance goal for the victory.
Lightning delayed the game 25 minutes into the contest as inclement weather loomed over the Memphis area. Rhodes scored at the 42:06 to take a 1-0 lead at the half. The Lynx got a shot off a corner kicked that was blocked, but fired in for the goal.
The Lynx added an insurance goal at the 69:34 mark in the second half. Rhodes score came off a scramble off a free kick.
Robin Bolme (JR. Smyrna, TN/Blackman) manned the nets for the Gorloks in the first half, making two saves and allowing the single goal. Alysa Coralic (SO, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville) took over in the second half and came up with six saves, allowing a single goal as well.
Webster is now 1-5 on the season as Rhodes improves to 3-2. The Gorloks return home on September 21 as they face Illinois College at the Soccer Park.
