Men's Soccer Takes Over First In SLIAC w/Win At MacMurray

The Webster University extended its winning streak to five games with a 2-0 win at MacMurray College, on October 14, in Jacksonville, IL.  The Gorloks remain unbeaten and now in first place at 4-0-1 in the SLIAC with the win.

The Webster defense was dominant throughout the contest, not allowing a shot as it shutout the Highlanders.  Matt Amick (FR, St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh) was the recipient of the stout defense as he picked up the win in goal, improving to 4-0-2 on the season.

The Gorloks scored at 15:15 on a goal by Ryan Gonzalez (FR, Sugar Land, TX/Clements), his second of the year.  Dino Music (SR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville) picked up the assist.  Webster added an insurance goal in the second half at 80:10 by Hunter Olaso (FR, Kailua-Kona, HI/Kealakehe).  It was Olaso's second tally of the year as well, as Gonzale got the assist.

Webster outshot MacMurray, 18-0, in the contest, and had six corners to none for the Highlanders.  The Gorloks have a 17-game win streak vs. MacMurray, dating back to 2003.

Webster moved all alone into first as Principia College suffered its first loss and fell to 4-1.  Webster is 4-0-1 in the SLIAC and 9-4-2 overall.

Webster will host Eureka College on October 18 at the Soccer Park for Senior Night.
