The Webster University women's soccer team, ranked 6th in the Central Region, defeated Principia College 7-0, on October 21 at the Soccer Park. The Gorloks keep their grasp on first place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with just two league games remaining.
While the Gorloks were spending most of the early part of the first half in the Principia end of the field, they had no goals to show for their efforts. Melissa Kasper (SO, Chicago, IL/Oswego) broke the spell with a goal at 18:46, with the assist going to Carolyn Ries (JR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville). Kasper added a second goal just three minutes later, when Chelsea Noser (SR, Collinsville, IL/Collinsville) found her open in the box for the assist.
Kasper has eight goals on the year and now leads the team in points with 26, one ahead of Noser's 24. Webster outshot Principia, 14-5, on the half and had a 5-0 edge in corner kicks. Aly Miller (SO, Middleville, MI/Thornapple) started in goal for Webster, and got the decision as she is 6-0 on the year. Alisa Coralic (JR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville) took over the nets in the second half.

Kelsey Hausmann (SR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville) joined in on the scoring at the 68:00 minute mark. Nicole Bascio (JR, St. Louis, MO/Timberland) had a shot cleared by the Panther goalie...but she banked it right off Hausmann and back into the net. It was Hausmann's eighth goal of the year.
Joi Wilson (FR, Tracy, CA/Tracy) scored her team-leading 10th goal at the 74:44, off a pass from Jenn Laaksonen (SO, St. Louis, MO/Fox) to make it 5-0 Webster. Laaksonen picked up her seventh tally of the season, with Bascio picking up her second assist, at 86:00...then the duo repeated the act at 89:00 with Laaksonen scoring her eighth and Bascio getting her third assist of the contest for the 7-0 final.
