WEBSTER GROVES - Webster University Volleyball extended its win streak to school-record tying 10 straight matches here Tuesday evening as the Gorloks swept MacMurray College (25-19, 25-20, 25-17) in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Senior Night at Grant Gymnasium.
Prior to Tuesday's match, Webster honored its three seniors and one junior in a pre-match ceremony as this year's seniors are outside hitter

Kelsey Hamann (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) and the junior that is leaving early is middle hitter

With Tuesday's win, the Gorloks improve to 14-7 overall and 12-2 in the SLIAC and extended its school record for consecutive sets won to 30. MacMurray fell to 5-17 overall and 5-8 in the league.

Kristen Farrah (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell) made history early on in the first set as she became the 14th Gorlok volleyball player to join the 1,000 Dig Club as she entered the match needing just three digs to join the exclusive club. For the match, Farrah finished with 24 digs and and has now recorded 1,020 digs in less than two seasons at Webster. This season, Farrah has recorded 621 digs and is now just 38 digs shy of the school's single season dig mark of 659 set by Katie O'Toole in 2016.
In Tuesday's victory, Webster finished with a .161 attack percentage as they had 41 kills, including both Grassi and sophomore outside hitter
Samantha Kruse (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) each recording 11 kills and hitting a combined .290 as Grassi hit .321 and Kruse hit .265. Along with Grassi and Kruse, Kissel finished with seven kills, three blocks and hit .385 in the win.
Defensively, Webster held the Highlanders to an .045 attack percentage as the Gorloks outdug MacMurray, 70-69 and both teams finished with five team blocks.
Along with Farrah's 24 digs, Kruse added 13 digs for her eighth double-double, while Hamann had 11 digs and recorded 22 assists for her team leading 10th double-double on the year.
In the opening set, neither team was very efficient offensively as the teams combined for 22 attack errors and hit -.059 as Webster had nine attack errors on 10 kills and hit .020, while MacMurray had 13 attack errors on six kills and hit -.140. The Highlanders led 4-2 early, before WU used an 11-5 run to take a 13-9 lead. After MacMurray scored back-to-back points to pull within 13-11, the Gorloks responded with a 9-0 run that was keyed by four MacMurray errors and two kills from Kissel. MacMurray, though, would answer with an 8-1 run to pull within 23-19. WU would then close out the set and seal the 25-19 win by scoring the final two points, including capping the win with a kill from freshman right side hitter
Samantha Hoff (Sterling Heights, Mich./Sterling Heights).
Both teams were much more efficient in the second set as each team hit over .150 and recorded 15 kills each. In the set, WU jumped out to an 8-6 lead and led 11-9 when MacMurray used a 4-2 run to tie the set at 13. After the two teams took turns holding the lead, WU responded with a 6-0 run to push out to a 20-14 lead. The Highlanders would then score four of the next six points to take a 22-18 lead, before the Gorloks closed the set by scoring three of the final five points to seal its 25-20 set win to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
In the third set, Webster jumped out to an 11-7 lead and led 18-10 when the Highlanders used a 5-3 run to pull within 21-15. After two quick points by the Gorloks pushed their lead 23-15, MacMurray would used two attack errors by Budrovich to drop WU's lead to 23-17. Webster, though, would then answer by scoring the final two points to seal its 25-17 set win and its 10th consecutive victory. Webster hit .256 in the set and had 16 kills, while MacMurray hit .147 and had 10 kils.
Kamryn Flesner led the way offensively for MacMurray as she had eight kills and hit .250, while Hannah Harbaugh added seven kills and hit a match high .462. Alexis Moore recorded a match-high 25 digs for the Highlanders.
Webster will now hit the road to play their final nine matches of the regular season away from home as they begin the stretch on Thursday, Oct. 18 with a 7 p.m. match in Carlinville, Ill., against Blackburn. The Gorloks picked up a three-set win over the Beavers at the Webster Quadrangle on Oct. 6.
