Women' Soccer Wins 11-0 at Iowa Wesleyan Behind Kasper's Hat Trick

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - Webster University kept its perfect record intact in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play here Tuesday afternoon as the Gorloks used a hat trick from junior forward Melissa Kasper (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) en route to posting an 11-0 victory over Iowa Wesleyan at East Lake Park.

The hat trick was the second of the season for Kasper and the third of the year for the Gorloks as along with Kasper's two hat tricks, senior forward Nicole Bascio (Wentzville, Mo./Timberland) recorded a hat trick in last Thursday 5-0 home win over Spalding.

With the victory, Webster extends its win streak to eight straight and improves its record to 15-2-1 overall and 8-0-0 in the SLIAC, while Iowa Wesleyan falls to 3-10-0 overall and 1-6-0 in the league.

Bascio extended her goal scoring streak to six straight matches as she got the scoring started in Tuesday match as took a pass from junior midfielder Olivia Osterhage (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) and found the net just 28 seconds into the match. The goal was the 14th of the season for Bascio.

Page scored the first of her two goals in the sixth minute as she took a pass from Osterhage and found the net for her ninth goal of the year.

About 79 seconds later, senior defender Jillian Zimpfer (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles) took a pass from Osterhage and found the goal for her third score of the season. The assist for Osterhage was her carrer-high third of the match, which is tied for 11th in a single match in school history.

Page made it 4-0 in the 13th minute as she took a pass from senior midfielder Carolyn Ries (St. Louis, Mo./Lindbergh) to complete for her  third career two goal game.

Ries got into the scoring column in the 14th minute as used a pass from Page to score her eighth goal of the season. Ries' goal made the score 5-0.

Wilson completed the first half scoring with 30 seconds left in the half as she scored a goal off an assist from Kasper to give WU a 9-0 lead at the half. Kasper's assist was her 17th of the season as she is now tied for the team lead in assists with Osterhage.
