Tuesday's Home Softball Game With Fontbonne Moved to ABC Park

WEBSTER GROVES - Webster University announced late Monday afternoon that its home softball doubleheader with Fontbonne University has been moved from Blackburn Park to Fontbonne's home field, ABC Park in St. Ann, Mo. The doubleheader will still begin at 3 p.m.

The change in venue for Tuesday's St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball game was needed as overnight rain on Sunday left Blackburn Park's field unplayable for Tuesday's game.

"I am thankful that Fontbonne is allowing us the opportunity to move our game on Tuesday from Blackburn Park to ABC Park since our field would not be ready to play on," Webster interim head coach Katie Griffith said. "I'm hopeful that with the sun and warm temperatures the next couple of days that the field at Blackburn Park will fully dry, so we can play our game with Iowa Wesleyan on Wednesday there."

Despite playing at Fontbonne's home field, Webster will be the home team in both games of Tuesday's doubleheader and both teams will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness prior to the beginning of the game.

Webster comes into Tuesday's doubleheader sporting a 4-18 overall record and is 1-7 in the SLIAC after dropping both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday at Spalding, while Fontbonne is sporting a 7-17 overall record and are 5-5 in league play after dropping a doubleheader on Saturday at Iowa Wesleyan.
