DELAVAN, Wis. - The NCAA announced on Sunday morning that the start time for Sunday's NCAA Whitewater Baseball Regional Championship game between Webster and North Central (Ill.) has been pushed back to 4 p.m. at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus.
Sunday's game time adjustment was needed after overnight rain and a forecast that calls for rain and scattered thunderstorms in the Whitewater area throughout the morning on Sunday.Â
Webster, who is the No. 1 seed in the Whitewater Regional, is the lone undefeated team in the double elimination tournament and needs only one win to claim the regional title and advance to next week's Super Regional round. Should North Central win Sunday's first game, an if necessary game, is scheduled to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of Sunday's first game.
The 18th-ranked Gorloks, who have won eight straight games, including picking up wins over Bethany Lutheran and Wisconsin-Whitewater in the Whitewater Regional, are sporting a 34-10 overall record. North Central advanced to Sunday's title game following its 13-4 elimination round game on Saturday against Wisconsin-Whitewater, which followed its 11-4 win earlier on Saturday against Bethany Lutheran in another elimination game.Â
The winner of the Whitewater Regional will face the winner of the Chicago, Ill., Regional hosted by Concordia-Chicago next weekend in the best-of-three Super Regional round. The winners of the super regional will advance to the Division III World Series on May 31-June 5 at Perfect Game Field at Veteran's Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Â
