Gorloks Extend Winning Streak to 11

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University men's soccer team was back on the field yesterday when they hosted the Spalding (Ky.) University Golden Eagles in the SLIAC Game of the Week. The Gorloks defeated the Golden Eagles for their 11th straight win by a final score of 3-0 to improve to 13-1 on the season and 9-0 in SLIAC play. The loss moves Spalding to 8-6-1 on the year and 7-3 in conference play.

Webster out shot the Golden Eagles by a final count of 15-8 and put five of those shots on target compared to four from Spalding. Webster also led in the corner count as they finished with four while the Golden Eagles finished with two.

Two first half goals from Mark Moore gave the Gorloks an early lead in the game. Moore scored his ninth goal of the season in the 29th minute when he finished off a pass from Noah Abraham to give Webster a 1-0 lead. Moore and Abraham were back at it again just two minutes later when Abraham found Moore for his 10th tally of the year.

Colby Kapp finished off the scoring for Webster as he scored his first goal of the season in the 80th minute to solidify the 3-0 win. Aamahn Murvin had the assist, his team leading eighth of the year.

Matt Coffey was in goal for the Gorloks as he made four saves in his fourth solo shutout of the season.

The Gorloks return to the field on Monday, October 18th when they travel to Greenville, Illinois, to take on the Greenville (Ill.) University Panthers in a SLIAC matchup. The game is set to start at 5 p.m.
