Baseball's Doubleheader Saturday at WashU Has Been Canceled Due to Weather

Start of Sunday's Home Doubleheader Pushed Back to 2:30 P.M.

WEBSTER GROVES - With the anticipation of heavy rain overnight and into the morning hours on Saturday, Washington University in St. Louis has announced that its home doubleheader scheduled with No. 2 and No. 4-ranked Webster for Saturday, April 10 has been canceled.

While Saturday's doubleheader between the Top 5 nationally-ranked foes in Division III baseball has been canceled, Webster's home doubleheader with No. 1 and No. 2 ranked WashU scheduled for Sunday, April 11 at GCS Credit Union Ballpark is still scheduled, but the start time has been pushed back about two-and-half hours as the doubleheader will now begin at 2:30 p.m. It was originally scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.

Sunday's scheduled doubleheader with the Bears will be the second and third meetings this season between the two teams as WashU picked up a 4-3 win in 12 innings on its home field on March 24.

The Gorloks enter the weekend sporting an 18-4 overall record and have won five consecutive games since suffering an 8-3 home loss on March 30 to Westminster (Mo.) College, while WashU is 16-0 on the year after sweeping a home doubleheader on Friday against Westminster. The Bears are one of 16 teams in all of collegiate baseball that are still undefeated this season.
