DECATUR, Ill. – This afternoon the Webster University women's volleyball team was back on the court when they traveled to Decatur, Illinois, for the second day of the Millikin Invitational at Millikin (Ill.) University. The Gorloks split the two matches they played this afternoon as they were swept in three sets (19-25, 24-26, 17-25) by Central (Iowa) College and then bounced back to win in five sets (14-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 15-9) against Illinois College. With the split, the Gorloks move to 6-5 on the season.

Match 1
The Gorloks had a tough time getting their attack going in the first match against Central College as they finished with 31 kills over three sets. They had 13 kills in the first set, 11 kills in the second set, and seven kills in the third set for a .095 attacking percentage. The Dutch finished with 41 kills in the match and a .245 attacking percentage. The
Gorloks also added 46 digs, three blocks, 26 assists, and four service aces.

Lauren Borik led the attack for the Gorloks as she finished with 10 kills in the match. Karter Hilliard also had a nice game as she finished with six kills in the match. Mary Nelson added five kills for the Gorloks.

Mary Nelson ran the offense in this one for the Gorloks as she finished with a team high 11 assists. In addition to Nelson, Alli Spohr added seven assists, and Delaney Demman finished with six.

Lauren Borik led the team defensively as she finished with a match high 15 digs. In addition to Borik, Kyra Gensel finished with 11 digs and Tori Cichelero added eight digs.

Match 2
In the second match of the day, the Gorloks finished with 59 kills over five sets. They had 11 in the first set, 12 in the second set, 16 in both the third and fourth sets, and four in the fifth set for a .170 attacking percentage. The Lady Blues finished with 49 kills in the match and a .124 attacking percentage. The Gorloks added 53 digs, 46 assists, five blocks, and five service aces in the match.

Lauren Borik led the attack in this match as she finished with 17 kills over five sets. Mary Nelson also finished with double digit kills as she had 16 in the match. Ali Spohr added seven kills for the Golroks.

Mary Nelson led the team in assists as she finished with a team high 20. Ali Spohr finished with 15 assists for Webster.

Spohr led the team in digs as she finished with 13. In addition to Spohr, Tori Cichelero added 11 digs in the match.

The Gorloks return to the court on Tuesday, September 21^st when they travel to Terra Haute, Indiana, to take on Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) in a nonconference matchup. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. EST.
