ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University baseball team will kick off their season on Friday, February 24
th when they travel to Birmingham, Alabama, to compete in the BSC Classic hosted by Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) College. The Gorloks will play three games on the weekend including matchups against Depauw (Ind.) University and Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) College who were both regionally ranked to end last season.
Webster will play their first home game of the season on Thursday, March 2
nd when they host Hanover (Ind.) College to kick-off the 2023 Webster Classic. The Gorloks will then take on two opponents that finished the 2022 season as regionally ranked teams including a March 4
th matchup against the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and a March 5
th matchup against Benedictine (Ill.) University.
The Gorloks will then travel out west for their spring break trip and play seven games in California. They will play a three-game series against 2022 NCAA DIII Super Regional qualifier, Chapman (calif.) University, from March 10
th to March 12
th. They will then take on Pamona-Pitzer (Calif.) University on March 14
th, University of Redlands (Calif.) on March 15
th, University of La Verne (Calif.) on March 17
th, and Occidental (Calif.) College on March 18
th. Pamona-Pitzer and La Verne were both regionally ranked to end last season.
Webster will travel to Bloomington, Illinois, on March 21
st to take on North Central (Ill.) College for a matchup between two of the top three ranked teams in Region VIII last season. The Gorloks then return home on March 25
th for a three-game SLIAC series against Spalding (Ky.) University who ended the 2022 season ranked eighth in Region VIII.
Webster will play five more nonconference games on the season including a doubleheader in Memphis, Tennessee, against Rhodes (Tenn.) College on April 4
th. They will then host Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) on April 11
th before traveling to Millikin (Ill.) University on April 18
th and Washington (Mo.) University on April 26
th. Millikin was ranked sixth in Region VIII to end last season.
The Gorloks will play their final home series of the regular season from April 28
th to April 29
th when they host Principia (Ill.) College at GCS Credit Union Ballpark. They will wrap up regular season play in Greenville, Illinois, when they take on the Panthers on May 5
th and May 6
th.
The SLIAC Baseball Tournament is set to take place from Thursday, May 11
th to Saturday, May 13
th at CarShield Field in O'Fallon, Missouri.
