HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Webster University women's tennis team opened up their spring break trip on Sunday with a 7-2 loss to Stockton (N.J.) University in Hilton Head, South Carolina. With the loss, the Gorloks fall to 4-5 on the season.
The Gorloks picked up wins in #1 doubles and #1 singles against the Ospreys.
Erin Brezovar and
Bailey Higgins defeated Sarb Devi and Lily Muir in #1 doubles by a final score of 8-4. Brezovar then went on to win #1 singles by final scores of 6-0 and 4-0 before her opponent, Lily Muir, retired from the match.
Emma Ferguson came close to winning in #2 singles as she fell in the first game by a final score of 4-6 and then bounced back to win the second game by a final score of 6-1 before falling in the tie breaker 10-5 to Sarb Devi.
The women's tennis team is back in action on Tuesday, March 15
th when they take on Washington (Md.) College at Hilton Head Beach & Tennis in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The match is set to start at 3:45 p.m. EST.
