HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Webster University women's tennis team wrapped up their spring break trip this morning when they took on St. Mary's College of Maryland in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The Gorloks defeated the Seahawks by a final score of 7-2 to improve to 6-6 on the season.

The Gorloks took two out of the three matches in the doubles portion of the match. Erin Brezovar and Bailey Higgins won #1 doubles as they defeated Hannah Gorel and Hallie Hershey by a final score of 8-4. Kylie Chitwood and Emma Ferguson took #2 doubles as they defeated Sydney Anderson and Amber Manspeaker by a final score of 8-4. Navone Armstrong and Emily Casey nearly completed the sweep but fell in #3 doubles by a final score of 8-7 after dropping the tiebreaker 9-7.

Webster carried over their momentum into the singles portion of the match and were able to win five of the six matches. Erin Brezovar won #1 singles by final scores of 6-3 and 6-0, Emma Ferguson won #2 singles by final scores of 6-2 and 6-4, Bailey Higgins won #3 doubles by final scored of 7-5 and 6-4, Emily Casey won #5 singles by final scores of 6-3 and 6-4, and Maddie Mena won #6 singles by final scores of 6-3 and 6-2.

The women's tennis team will be back in action on Friday, March 25^th when they host Baker (Kan.) University at Webster Groves Recreational Complex. The match is set to start at 3 p.m.
